East Moline man gets 40 years in 2017 arson, death
A 39-year-old East Moline man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Wednesday for setting a house fire that killed an elderly woman in 2017. Jason McChurch appeared Wednesday with his attorney in Rock Island County Court. Earlier, he was found guilty of first-degree murder and residential arson in the death of an 88-year-old woman. McChurch was convicted of intentionally setting a fire at a house on 13th Street in Moline, where firefighters found Marion Dreier inside.
